County Announces Pueblo Canyon Trail Concept Plan Meetings May 5-10 – Los Alamos Reporter

COUNTY NEWS RELEASE

The Los Alamos County Community Services Department (CSD) is working with Design Office, a professional consulting service to provide a conceptual design and layout for new and renovated Pueblo Canyon trails. CSD held several focus group meetings with citizens and user groups from January to March this year, to give residents the opportunity to share their thoughts and feedback to help develop and prioritize the concept designs for projects that will be shared with the Los Alamos County Council for funding consideration. .

The Community Services Department and the Engineering Department have reached the next phase of the project and will hold public meetings on May 5and and 10and. Both meetings are open to the public and will be held in a hybrid format to allow those unable to attend in person to attend virtually.

Desire is to gather feedback and review concepts for a long blue/green rated mountain bike trail, mountain bike skill park, San Ildefonso Road Center trail aquatic, an equestrian trail in Bayo Canyon and a national interscholastic cycle. Association Course (NICA).

During the meeting, attendees will receive a poll to gather more feedback on an individual basis on which of the five concepts they support, this poll will also be available to attendees attending via Zoom.

Los Alamos County recognizes the value of trails to residents and visitors. Trails provide the opportunity to engage with nature and are highly sought after quality of life elements in our community. The Department of Community Services would like to invite interested members of the public to join whichever meeting best suits their schedule.
