KP chief minister wants quick progress on mega housing scheme – Pakistan


PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Mahmood Khan has ordered accelerated progress on the ‘New Peshawar Valley’ mega housing scheme as per the timeline and concerned authorities to finalize arrangements for issuing letters of intimation to landowners for the acquisition of land under the land sharing formula.

He issued the directives while chairing a meeting regarding the proposed New Peshawar Valley project here the other day, an official document posted here on Sunday said.

CM Special Assistant on Information Advocate Muhammad Ali Saif, Additional Chief Secretary Shahab Ali Shah, CM Principal Secretary Amjad Ali, Local Government Secretary Zaheerul Islam, PDA DG Fayaz Ali Shah and other relevant authorities attend the meeting.

The meeting will detail the progress made so far on the implementation of the scheme and took a number of decisions for further progress.

The Chief Minister further directed the authorities concerned to take the necessary steps as a matter of priority for the establishment of a sub-office of the Peshawar Development Authority, establishment of a police station as well as resources personnel required at the project site, the assignment of the necessary fiscal personnel for the rapid elimination of issues related to land acquisition and the preparation of PC-1 for the construction of access roads to the project site .

Briefing the participants on the progress made so far on the project, he was informed that so far, 8,000 kanals of land have been cleared for the project, while the final master plan of the project has been officially approved by the Board of the Peshawar Development Authority. at its last meeting.

He was further informed that as per the master plan, the housing project will be established on 1,86,400 Kanal of land of which 41% of the area has been allocated for residential land and apartments while 28% of the area has been allocated. allocated for road construction. .

Similarly, 16% of the area for parks and open spaces, 7% for public buildings and 5% would be used for commercial activities and parking. Additionally, a 2% area has been proposed for cemetery purposes.

As part of the project, all the essential facilities for any modern housing company have been provided.

According to the detailed master plan, 62,056 residential plots of different categories were initially proposed, including 16,312 3-Marla plots, 17,201 5-Marla plots, 3,402 7-Marla plots, 9,526 10-Marla plots, 13,415 of 1 Kanal, 1,494 plots. of 2 Kanal and 706 plots of 4 Kanal.

Some 8,000 Kanal of land has been reserved and would also be used for the provision of residential land as needed.

The meeting was informed that other key features of the project also include Civil Secretariat, Media Enclave, Sports City, Education and Health City which will be equipped with state-of-the-art facilities of international standards .

He was further informed that a mega park with the nomenclature of “Khyber Park” would also be created under the project, which would include cultural villages, Gandhara museum, theme park, forest, entertainment area adventure and all other state of the art recreational facilities.

It was further informed that a project for the construction of access roads to the project site had been reflected in the new annual development program, and PC-1 thereof was being prepared and would be presented soon. to the competent forum for approval. .
