The latest Marvel Studio film is set to hit theaters early next month, which means the studio is promoting the film with a bit of automotive flair. The company has partnered with Lexus to design 10 superhero-themed models, each corresponding to a new character in the Eternals. Each wrap is inspired by the character’s armor design, iconography, and superpower.
The lineup includes most of the company’s lineup, although the luxury car superhero team misses the ES, UX, and RX. Lexus did little more than add a nice wrap to the models, however. All 10 feature a golden glow that emanates from the grille and underbody, giving the cars a mystical quality.
The 10 cars, their corresponding superhero and the actors who play them are as follows:
Ajak (Salma Hayek) – Lexus GX
Druig (Barry Keoghan) – Lexus GX
Gilgamesh (Don Lee) – Lexus LX
Ikaris (Richard Madden) – Lexus LS
Kingo (Kumail Nanjiani) – Lexus IS
Makkari (Lauren Ridloff) – Lexus RC F Track Edition
Phastos (Brian Tyree Henry) – Lexus LX
Sersi (Gemma Chan) – RC F
Sprite (Lia McHugh) – Lexus NX
Thena (Angelina Jolie) – Lexus LC 500
“We are delighted to bring the Eternals partnership to life through these custom Lexus vehicles, ”said Vinay Shahani, Lexus vice president of marketing. “Just like everyone Eternals the character has a distinct style and set of abilities just like every character-themed Lexus.
Unfortunately, you won’t see Jolie or Nanjiani driving their respective Lexus models like you would see Robert Downey Jr.’s Tony Stark. These will be featured in various media events, including the red carpet premiere.
The film, which has a stacked cast, follows the Eternals, an ancient alien race living on Earth, who have come together to unite against the Deviants, one of humanity’s oldest enemies. Eternals takes place after the events of 2019 Avengers Endgame. Chloe Zhao realizes, with the move arriving in theaters on November 5.
