The Circus Project, a nonprofit circus school in Portland, Oregon that offers recreational classes, intensive training businesses and multiple community partnerships, recently announced the appointment of its new program director, Amaya Alvarado.

She has worked with The Circus Project for many years as a coach and manager, and the school is excited to see her take on her next leadership role. After completing the professional program at Circus Warehouse in New York and graduating from the New England Center for Circus Arts, Amaya co-created several contemporary circus shows, performed artistic residencies at TOHU, SummerStage NY and Orchard Project Residency. , and founded Aiya Productions. . The school also recognizes the work and legacy of its outgoing program director, Erica Rubinstein, who served the organization for five years and oversaw significant growth of the program.
