Exciting news for fans of the crime drama.

David Chase, the creator of The Sopranos, is working on a new “mystery project” with Michael Imperioli, who played Christopher Moltisanti on the hit series.

Imperioli confirmed the news by appearing on Jimmy Fallon’s talk show to promote his role in the second series of comedy-drama The White Lotus.

In addition to being an actor, Imperioli has written several episodes of The Sopranos and also hosts Talking Sopranos, a podcast dedicated to the show, alongside Steve Schirripa who played Bobby Baccalieri in the series.

After discussing The Sopranos’ ambiguous ending, Fallon asked Imperioli if he was still in touch with Chase.

The actor replied, “Yeah, we’re writing a movie together right now for me and Steve Schirripa.

“It’s a mystery project. I can’t talk about it. David and I are writing it together.

“I can’t say what it’s about but when it comes out I’ll come here, before anyone else I’ll come here and talk about it.”

While Imperioli was tight-lipped about the project, some have speculated that the film could be a further expansion of the Sopranos universe after last year’s previous film for the show The Many Saints of Newark.
